We are pleased to announce the launch of a second Flaherty blend. In 2008, we bought 14 hectares near the town of Cauquenes in the Maule region of Chile. Since then, we have gradually been planting a small vineyard, which yielded its first vintage in 2014. We are very pleased with the quality of the wine, which displays a lot of personality. Whereas our Aconcagua blend is soft and lush, with the Syrah providing the underlying structure, the Cauquenes has nerve and backbone, with a lot of spice on the palate. The wine is roughly half Petit Sirah and half Tempranillo, with a bit of País from the hundred-year-old vines on the property. In 2014, we produced 200 cases, which will be sold exclusively in Chile.
